The Food at Cafe by the Ruins

Now let's go to the food... We were told that breakfast was the perfect time to grab a meal at Cafe by The Ruins. So it was really not surprising to see that there were a number of people already at the place when we arrived. Menu-browsing was what we did next...

First stop.. the Season's Favorite:
Crispy Tapa served with eggs, chopped tomatoes and garlic red mountain rice

It was delicious! The Tapa strips were really crispy. :D

Next on the list:
Lemon Ricotta Pasta with Grilled Chicken

Too lemon-y for our taste. Not recommended for an early morning meal, you might end up with stomachache due to acidity just like Arvic. I'm thinking it's best suited for merienda. :)

Then... The Carbonara

This one had really huge bacon strips! It can be a different breakfast meal all by itself. Haha!

The Mechado

Everyone who ordered it said it was really delicious. It was one of the dishes the waiter highly recommended. :)

All meals came with complimentary soup too. The soup tasted like bulalo. :D

To cap off the experience, we ordered coffee.

Yummy! :) I love their coffee! It's served really bitter and it's up to you if you'd like drown the bitterness with milk and sugar or drink it just as it is.

I just wish they had a veranda of some sort where one can enjoy the cold breeze while sipping hot coffee.
Will I go back? Most definitely.

CARPE DIEM!
I'm out.

Their mechado is diffrent from the mechado we're used to. It actually looked like roast pork to me.
But most of their food are great. They have good hot choco too! :)

Looks good. Have been to Baguio a couple of times, but never got to eat there. We always do eat at OMai Khan. Just a couple of blocks (or just meters?) away. Probably have to try this out once I get to travel back to Baguio.

Ba-Bye Ate

Today was quite a sad day for our family. For a very close-knit family, goodbyes are really extra difficult to say . Especially if the one leaving will be miles and seas away. My Ate (with her husband) left this morning for the US. They'll be starting their new life there. She already has work so I don't need to worry about that anyway, and I'm sure that she'll definitely do well. My parents were really sad... maybe it's the thought of being "away" from her. Tipong you have to hop on a plane pa just to be able to get to her. The whole family has US visa naman , we can go there anytime (as long as we have the money I guess :p) Yes, I cried a lot as well... and I guess it's because of all the bilins I got from her. The one that stuck the most " Ikaw na bahala dito ha.. Alagaan mo sila Mama and Papa. Si Ivan ha... Wag mo silang pabayaan. " My nephew on the other hand was a different story... he was eager to go home already when we got to NAIA.

Chuper Excited!

2 weeks to go.. then I'll be painting HongKong and Macau red with my Sanity Keepers... Any suggestions on where to go to? Beside from the usual night market, HK Disneyland and Ocean Park. Any cheap foodtrip areas? Plus, it's Arvic's first time in HongKong too. So I'm extra excited for him too. Let the countdown begin!I am sooooo excited already! :) My bday's coming up in more or less 2 weeks also. Yey! Turning 25 and excited about it! :D Planning to spend the weekend before my actual bday with the whole family somewhere. Let's see... :) ======= Yesterday, had a massage at TonTon's again. I loved it! Just what I needed. I love that place.. Not too crowded. And not too expensive too! :) ======= Work starts again tomorrow. Oh well.... positive side? At least I'll have enough moolah to enjoy HongKong. Thank you work! :P CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Boracay '09 : R & R

Long overdue Bora post. :P Before Summer actually ends.. I just felt that I should get my Bora series of posts over and done with.:) It was my second time in Boracay... and I can honestly say that this was the first time that I actually enjoyed the beach and the sand. :) My first trip there was last year and the itinerary for the whole stay was planned already, so it was mostly activities like ATV, island hopping, snorkeling. This year, it was mostly swimming and sitting around. Complete relaxation. :) The whole group stayed at SUR. A really neat resort located in Station 1. A white building, pretty and cozy huts, nice view and a really nice beach front... *Sigh*.. Take me back? I suddenly miss the sun, sand and free time. CARPE DIEM! I'm out.
