Wanna Be Artist

I wish I had artistic skills... If that were the case then I'll be able to make pretty shirts like this one -> Then I'll make money out of it and live happily ever after. Hahaha! Okay okay.. that's a little far-fetched. But seriously, I'll definitely make the most out of the talent and it'll be my little stress-therapy too. Oh well.. I'll try to hone my 'other' skills, if I ever do get to discover what they are. :P CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Dream Job

What's your dream job? Mine would be anything that includes traveling and seeing the world for free and hopefully also earn some moolah in doing so. I knew it!!! I should have tried out for a Discovery or NatGeo stint. *sigh* My Dream Jobs: - Be a paid traveler (I wish I wish I wish!) - Be a pre-school teacher / special education teacher (I love kids!) - Be a staff at Oprah or Ellen (imagine the places I'd be able to go to and the people I'll meet!) - Be a professional shopper! (Wow.. to be paid to shop.. wow!) I long for the day wherein I'll be able to say... pic is from here . Thanks! CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

You Know You're Grown Up When...

...You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. Quote from http://www.witty-quotes.com/grownup_1.html When it comes to number of vacation days.. I really miss being a kid. :P It's Monday again.. let the blues begin? :| CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Happy 21st!

21 months of togetherness and still counting. :) I know that our relationship's still 'young' but lasting more than a year really is something already. 3 more months to go then we'll be turning 2 already. Who would have guessed right? 2-3 years ago, we were mere acquaintances, gym buddies then friends... I guess we're lucky we didn't get stuck on each other's "friends zone". :P Yey for us! :) Now allow me to quote Aslyn's "That's when I love you" song. "Here's my promise made tonight You can count on me for life That's when i love you When nothing you do can change my mind The more I learn, The more I love The more my heart can't get enough That's when I love you, I love you no matter what" Mush... :P I LOVE YOU DEAR!♥ CARPE DIEM! The Worker Bee in Me

Pic is from here . Thanks! Buzz Buzz Buzz... says the busy bee *points to self*. And yet, I'm blogging. I guess this is my only 'break' from reality. I shall stop and smell the flowers for a few minutes today. It's a shame that the only thing a man can do for eight hours a day is work. He can't eat for eight hours; he can't drink for eight hours; he can't make love for eight hours. The only thing a man can do for eight hours is work. William Faulkner Haha! Yeah right... Oh well, I guess that means back to work I should go. 1 more day and it's the weekend again.... That's something to look forward to. =) ===== I watched the final show of American Idol 8 while running at the gym this morning. Pretty good idea... :) I just had my personal record-breaking run this morning (more than an hour in the threadmill), thanks to Idol... Yey for me. :D And of course..(I promised not to give spoilers/clues) Yey for the winner! CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

My 'Talk' with Papa God

There come times when I have nothing more to tell God. If I were to continue to pray in words, I would have to repeat what I have already said. At such times it is wonderful to say to God, "May I be in Thy presence, Lord? I have nothing more to say to Thee, but I do love to be in Thy presence." ~O. Hallesby I have been having nightmares for the past days and have been asking Papa God to take them away every single night... then last night, I gave up asking for nightmare-less sleep and just started by thinking "So... how have you been doing lately Papa God?"... Guess what? I savored the peaceful silence and slept like a baby. :) We do need to give Papa God a break sometime don't you think? Praying is a two way thing. Let's give Him some air-time too. A little kamustahan won't hurt. :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

My Shopping Haven

Yesterday after months of actually trying my best not to buy anything, I finally gave in. I felt I deserve a little bit of shopping. So I bought myself a toner and conditioner at Lush and several accessories around Greenbelt too. I must say, I really did miss the rush that shopping brings. Plus I have yet to find the dress I'll be wearing at my Ate's wedding. This made me reminisce back on the last time I actually did some decent shopping. And it was in HongKong! :D If budget and geography weren't an issue. I would be raiding this place like crazy every week. Oh wait.. make that everyday, as long as they have new stuff. :) So I've heard that SM (Yes, that's Mr. Henry Sy) will be the one to bring H&M here. Is this true? Hmmmm.. well, as long as the clothes won't be THAT expensive then I guess I'm okay with it. But there's something about it being readily accessible that lessens the excitement of shopping. Oh well, let's wait and see. :) CARPE DIE

Fish out of Water

I have been wanting to try out this place for quite some time already so when a number of friends wanted to get-together and have dinner at Fish Out of Water, I have to admit that the first thing that I thought of was "FINALLY!" :) The setup or ambiance was leaning more on modern style but still a bit homey. What the place offers is 'fusion'. A combination of Mediterranean cuisine with a local twist. Service was great as well, the crew is very attentive and all-smiles. On to the food.... Smoked Fish Pizza - Not your usual pizza. The smoked fish was just the right taste and its combination with the veggie toppings was just perfect. It can be shared by 2-3 persons. Labahita ala Bacalao Pasta - Also not your usual pasta dish. It's Linguini pasta with Labahita (fish) flakes. Twiced Cooked Pork Belly with Shitake Leek Mashed Potatoes - Another yummy and "big" dish. It may look small in the pic but it can really be shared by up to 4 persons. Almost everybody

Make you feel my love

How can you not fall in love with this song? It's just plain moving.... :) Make You Feel my Love (by Adele) When the rain Is blowing in your face And the whole world Is on your case I could offer you A warm embrace To make you feel my love When the evening shadows And the stars appear And there is no one there To dry your tears I could hold you For a million years To make you feel my love I know you Haven’t made Your mind up yet But I would never Do you wrong I’ve known it From the moment That we met No doubt in my mind Where you belong I’d go hungry I’d go black and blue I’d go crawling Down the avenue No, there’s nothing That I wouldn’t do To make you feel my love The storms are raging On the rolling sea And on the highway of regret Though winds of change Are throwing wild and free You ain’t seen nothing Like me yet I could make you happy Make your dreams come true Nothing that I wouldn’t do Go to the ends Of the Earth for you To mak

Oh Calvin Calvin Calvin...

I'm a big big big fan of Calvin and Hobbes. And now that I'm starting to collect Calvin and Hobbes Comics (and Dilbert too!), I get to read it every single day and it still never fails to amuse me. Then a sudden thought came.. What if Calvin gets older already??? So I tried googling for images and voila.... pic is from here . Thanks! :) Oh my Oh my Oh my... Well, at least he still has Hobbes. :) Leaving you with a quote -> The thing is, it's a big deal when you finally get the chance to do the one thing you want to do-need to do-more than anything. It can kind of scare the crap out of you. -Sarah Dessen Hmmm.. I think I'm at that stage now. Does this mean I'm finally getting close to that one thing I want/need to do more than anything??? CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Hungrrrrrrrrrrrrry

Lately.. I always feel hungry even right after eating. Not nice... I'm hoping that my metabolism is working double time. But then again.. maybe I'm just weak because I give in easily to food cravings. . Shoot me. :| Then while I was browsing through my picture folder I see this -> And now I'm craving for that Sausage and Bacon Pizza open-faced Toast we had at UCC. *drrrroooooollllssss* Why do I torture myself?!?? CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Turning Pro?

When I opened my Flickr account.. I got this warning -> Hmmmm.. Upgrade to Pro? Should I? :) I'm really considering it. Multiply lowers down the resolution of my uploaded pics. Which is cheaper? Multiply or Flickr? Oh yes... price does matter. :P Good morning everyone! :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Munching at Madison

My good friend Meg celebrated her birthday with us last week and we got to eat at Madison. At first we were planning on getting the pizza as we have the option of actually creating our own pizza masterpiece! But then again, we all decided that we were tired from work already and that we would be coming back again to make our own pizza on a weekend. :) So hungry as we are, we just scanned their menu and got to order the following: Soup: Mushroom Soup With truffle essence and fried parsley Pasta: Sauteed Littleneck Clams, Parsley, Garlic Butter Madison Rotisserie: Rosemary Citrus Chicken Maple Orange Marinated Chicken Unfortunately.. we only got to take pics of a number of dishes. I personally liked the complementary bread. :) And the place itself was really nice and comfy too. Thanks for the treat Meg! :) Happy Birthday to you and Cindy! :) Madison , Greenbelt 5 Phase 2, Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center Makati City, Metro Manila

Faith vs. Fear

pic is from here This is where I take a step, a leap of faith, and I jump and hope. But baby, I'm afraid of heights. Quote is from Hollies' site again. :) Ever felt like in every decision you make (whether it's big or small), you always get to a point wherein you feel torn? It all boils down to faith vs. fear. They actually don't go together, not a good match.. but we do experience both simultaneously at times. And here I am again, gearing up for another crossroad in my life and I sure hope that my faith will be so much stronger than my fears this time around. Nothing but good things ahead.. Wonderful surprises await. A little positivity will go a long long loooong way. :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Muncheeeee! :)

This... .. has been taking up most of my free time. This is all your fault Ariel :P Haha! The weekend is about to end and I am so wishing that it's Friday/Saturday again already. *Sigh* Unlimited weekends please??? :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

It's your day Ma! :)

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan I've always felt that way with how my Mama was to us... She always was willing to give. And most of the time she puts herself last of her priority list. So every now and then, I see to it that she gets pampered and she feels super special because she really is. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MAMA! :) We love you very very much. Thank you for being the best! :) Happy Mother's Day to all moms!!! CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Boracay '09 : Food Glorious Fooooood (Part 2)

Our last night at Bora became a semi-splurge night. We (Me and Arvic) opted to have dinner at Two Seasons. It was the resort right next to Sur. The staff was great and really friendly. And the food, well... serving was more or less good for 2-3 persons. Plus.. we love their huts! Really comfy. :) The Pork Belly dish was delicious. And the pasta (mushroom pasta) was really rich and full of flavor. As for the price... it was a bit pricey. But then again, the ambiance was worth it. A nice place for quiet dates. :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Boracay '09 : Food Glorious Fooooood (Part 1)

Second Bora post... now let's talk about fooooooooooood. :) Or should I let the pictures say it all instead? Okay.. maybe I will... First stop. Jony's! :D And good news was that they had a 'Buy 1 Take 1' offer but for limited flavors only. You can choose among the following: -Banana Shake -Banana Peanut -Banana Whisk -Watermelon Hmmmm.. Based on the selection, I'm assuming that Boracay is overflowing with Banana's lately huh? :P We chose the Banana Whisk. It had the same taste as the usual Banana Shake with added Vanilla flavor. I'm thinking it was Vanilla Ice Cream they added. I honestly liked it. :) But I'm thinking that maybe the Watermelon may have been a more refreshing choice. Next... BURGER at Sur.. The burger was huuuuuuge and really stuffed. It doesn't look that enticing though. Haha! But really.. it was gooooood. :) Next... Mexican Food, big drinks and Corn in a cob at Mañana. To be continued.... CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Boracay '09 : R & R

Long overdue Bora post. :P Before Summer actually ends.. I just felt that I should get my Bora series of posts over and done with.:) It was my second time in Boracay... and I can honestly say that this was the first time that I actually enjoyed the beach and the sand. :) My first trip there was last year and the itinerary for the whole stay was planned already, so it was mostly activities like ATV, island hopping, snorkeling. This year, it was mostly swimming and sitting around. Complete relaxation. :) The whole group stayed at SUR. A really neat resort located in Station 1. A white building, pretty and cozy huts, nice view and a really nice beach front... *Sigh*.. Take me back? I suddenly miss the sun, sand and free time. CARPE DIEM! I'm out.
