Christmas Dinner with Arvic

It was hard to think of a place to spend our Christmas dinner at mainly because we've been to a lot of restaurants already. So it came as a surprise to us when we realized that we haven't eaten at Cyma yet. We knew that the Makati branch would be more or less jampacked because of holiday dinners so we opted to go to the Shangrila Mall branch instead. :)

The feel of the place was homey. No wonder there were tables of friends and families having their holiday get-togethers.

Off to the food.

Our Appetizer:

Spinach and Artichoke Fondue (395)
Blend of melting cheese, sliced sun-dried tomatoes and Feta. Served with warm pita bread and garlic bread

I wasn't really a big fan of the fondue. But I did love the pita bread that came with it. :)

The main course/s

My Order... Cyma Lamb Chops (P420)
Shoulder Loin Chop. Charbroiled served with rice stuffed pepper

I loved it! It was cooked just right. I wanted it done medium-well. It was tasty and tender. I got the rice stuffed pepper instead of the potatoes to go with it.

Arvic's Order... Cyma Fillet Mignon (P500)
Pan roasted, with rosemary, peppered feta cheese and lemon au jus, served with Greek roasted potatoes

Arvic loved his fillet mignon as well. It was cooked just right and was tasty and tender as well. Both courses went well with our drinks...

Okay.. I know I know.. Red wine is for red meat and white wine is for white meat. But I still went ahead and drank my white wine with my lamb chops. Mind you, it still paired up well. :P It was a nice and quiet dinner date with Arvic, just the way we wanted it to be. Thank you Cyma! :)

CARPE DIEM!
I'm out.

Ba-Bye Ate

Today was quite a sad day for our family. For a very close-knit family, goodbyes are really extra difficult to say . Especially if the one leaving will be miles and seas away. My Ate (with her husband) left this morning for the US. They'll be starting their new life there. She already has work so I don't need to worry about that anyway, and I'm sure that she'll definitely do well. My parents were really sad... maybe it's the thought of being "away" from her. Tipong you have to hop on a plane pa just to be able to get to her. The whole family has US visa naman , we can go there anytime (as long as we have the money I guess :p) Yes, I cried a lot as well... and I guess it's because of all the bilins I got from her. The one that stuck the most " Ikaw na bahala dito ha.. Alagaan mo sila Mama and Papa. Si Ivan ha... Wag mo silang pabayaan. " My nephew on the other hand was a different story... he was eager to go home already when we got to NAIA.

Chuper Excited!

2 weeks to go.. then I'll be painting HongKong and Macau red with my Sanity Keepers... Any suggestions on where to go to? Beside from the usual night market, HK Disneyland and Ocean Park. Any cheap foodtrip areas? Plus, it's Arvic's first time in HongKong too. So I'm extra excited for him too. Let the countdown begin!I am sooooo excited already! :) My bday's coming up in more or less 2 weeks also. Yey! Turning 25 and excited about it! :D Planning to spend the weekend before my actual bday with the whole family somewhere. Let's see... :) ======= Yesterday, had a massage at TonTon's again. I loved it! Just what I needed. I love that place.. Not too crowded. And not too expensive too! :) ======= Work starts again tomorrow. Oh well.... positive side? At least I'll have enough moolah to enjoy HongKong. Thank you work! :P CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Shoot that Target

With all the recent carnapping and non-stop news reports about different types of crimes happening left and right, it's really starting to get scary to live here. But don't get me wrong, I still love Pinas. But we all really should start doing something about this. Be vigilant people. Be alert. Keep safe. With that thought (being alert etc etc) I remember a recent bonding activity I had with my brother and Papa over the holidays. I have a feeling what we did is a pretty unique activity to do on Christmas morning. Guess what we did??? Target shooting! My Papa is a gun-club member for the last 2-3 years, I even had been attending several gunshows for the past years with him. He's an officer of the gunclub of our town in N. Ecija. He's in the process of putting up his own target-shooting range at the back of our house. And that's where we were this past Christmas morning. On our way to the back part of the house. Unfinished target-shooting spot... The bul
