Isdaan at Tarlac

Finally... Arvic got the chance to eat at the Isdaan (in Gerona, Tarlac). I wanted him to try it out because I really think it's unique and a nice place to hang-out with family and friends. Really relaxing... When we got there though, it was raining already. But it's all good. We still had fun.

At the entrance, you'll be greeted by our friendly neighborhood (statue) guard. He'll be offering you a newspaper too.

I love the native feel of the place. The whole setup revolved on the idea of Thailand-meets-Philippines. Buddha's here and there and a few Pinoy Icons Statues too (e.g. Ninoy, Cardinal Sin, Cory Aquino etc).

And because the place was called "Isdaan" , you just really expect to see a lot of fishes right?

One of the place's attraction too is the Tacsiyapo ('Shame on You') wall. Here, you're allowed to throw/smash a cup, plate, or even a big TV at the wall to release anger. We weren't able to try it out because of the rain plus we weren't really willing to spend money to throw things on a wall. But it was another unique idea I must say.

Another gimik is the San Kilo Bridge. The idea is that one should cross the bridge with one pail of water in hand. The price? If you do complete the test, you get a kilo of fish for free. :)

To add to the entertainment.. Singing waiters were present too and were always ready for the cameras.

As for the food.. we had lots! But sad to say.. I was only able to take a pic of one dish. Yes... we were that hungry already.

Isdaan is owned and operated by BARRIO FIESTA GROUP OF RESTAURANTS so expect the same type of delicious food from Barrio Fiesta at this place.

CARPE DIEM!
I'm out.

I would love to try the San Kilo gimmick. =) I remember Shame on You was featured in local TV several years ago. Diyan nga pala sa Tarlac yun. I'd love to witness actual throwing. But I'm not sure if I'd try. =)

Anung klaseng mga isda ba ang pueding hulihin at ipaluto duon?
Cza said…
@bev - mga 2 hours galing manila cguro. :) nasa bandang labas pa naman sya medyo ng tarlac city mismo. :)

@bertN - Actually you won't be able to catch any.. Puro Koi yung nasa isdaan mismo. So no catching of fresh fish I think.

Ba-Bye Ate

Today was quite a sad day for our family. For a very close-knit family, goodbyes are really extra difficult to say . Especially if the one leaving will be miles and seas away. My Ate (with her husband) left this morning for the US. They'll be starting their new life there. She already has work so I don't need to worry about that anyway, and I'm sure that she'll definitely do well. My parents were really sad... maybe it's the thought of being "away" from her. Tipong you have to hop on a plane pa just to be able to get to her. The whole family has US visa naman , we can go there anytime (as long as we have the money I guess :p) Yes, I cried a lot as well... and I guess it's because of all the bilins I got from her. The one that stuck the most " Ikaw na bahala dito ha.. Alagaan mo sila Mama and Papa. Si Ivan ha... Wag mo silang pabayaan. " My nephew on the other hand was a different story... he was eager to go home already when we got to NAIA.

Chuper Excited!

2 weeks to go.. then I'll be painting HongKong and Macau red with my Sanity Keepers... Any suggestions on where to go to? Beside from the usual night market, HK Disneyland and Ocean Park. Any cheap foodtrip areas? Plus, it's Arvic's first time in HongKong too. So I'm extra excited for him too. Let the countdown begin!I am sooooo excited already! :) My bday's coming up in more or less 2 weeks also. Yey! Turning 25 and excited about it! :D Planning to spend the weekend before my actual bday with the whole family somewhere. Let's see... :) ======= Yesterday, had a massage at TonTon's again. I loved it! Just what I needed. I love that place.. Not too crowded. And not too expensive too! :) ======= Work starts again tomorrow. Oh well.... positive side? At least I'll have enough moolah to enjoy HongKong. Thank you work! :P CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Boracay '09 : R & R

Long overdue Bora post. :P Before Summer actually ends.. I just felt that I should get my Bora series of posts over and done with.:) It was my second time in Boracay... and I can honestly say that this was the first time that I actually enjoyed the beach and the sand. :) My first trip there was last year and the itinerary for the whole stay was planned already, so it was mostly activities like ATV, island hopping, snorkeling. This year, it was mostly swimming and sitting around. Complete relaxation. :) The whole group stayed at SUR. A really neat resort located in Station 1. A white building, pretty and cozy huts, nice view and a really nice beach front... *Sigh*.. Take me back? I suddenly miss the sun, sand and free time. CARPE DIEM! I'm out.
