Katre Mediterreanean Restaurant

Katre will forever be memorable to me. First.. because I have spent great memories with friends there. Second, we just had our "Vday date" there recently.

They had a special set menu for Valentine's day.

So off to the food...

It was a set menu. And for starters, you can choose between salad or soup. And because we were soup-lovers, the obvious choice was the Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup.

The serving was just right. Just enough to get the tummy started. It was tasty and creamy. The good thing about it is that it does not leave you with a really full stomach. This way, you'll surely still have enough space to enjoy the main course.

Next stop was the main course..
My order:

Herb Crusted LambChops with Mint Jelly
served with Couscous Pilaf

It was delicious!!! :) I removed the mint jelly though. I am not a fan of it. Arvic was though. He ate it up. Had it 'medium well' style. The chops were tender and still juicy. The couscous rice was delicious also, it complimented the chops very well. Loved it! :)
Arvic's order:
Grilled Black Angus Rib Eye Steak Au Jus
served with Mashed Potato.

He really liked it! He loves steaks. He even said that it was better than the steaks at Alfredo's. Nice! =)

Next stop.. Dessert. We were given three choices: Chocolate Cake, Carrot Cake or Creme Brulee.

Our dessert...

Carrot Cake

Crème brûlée (aka. Arvic's favorite dessert :P)

What I love about this place is the privacy and the attentive staff. :) If there's an occasion (like Vday or Christmas or any other holiday where people opt to dine out), I think it's a good idea to call for a reservation first. The place is really not that big, though it does have a second floor. All in all I think it can house approximately 30-40 persons max.

Ba-Bye Ate

Today was quite a sad day for our family. For a very close-knit family, goodbyes are really extra difficult to say . Especially if the one leaving will be miles and seas away. My Ate (with her husband) left this morning for the US. They'll be starting their new life there. She already has work so I don't need to worry about that anyway, and I'm sure that she'll definitely do well. My parents were really sad... maybe it's the thought of being "away" from her. Tipong you have to hop on a plane pa just to be able to get to her. The whole family has US visa naman , we can go there anytime (as long as we have the money I guess :p) Yes, I cried a lot as well... and I guess it's because of all the bilins I got from her. The one that stuck the most " Ikaw na bahala dito ha.. Alagaan mo sila Mama and Papa. Si Ivan ha... Wag mo silang pabayaan. " My nephew on the other hand was a different story... he was eager to go home already when we got to NAIA.

Chuper Excited!

2 weeks to go.. then I'll be painting HongKong and Macau red with my Sanity Keepers... Any suggestions on where to go to? Beside from the usual night market, HK Disneyland and Ocean Park. Any cheap foodtrip areas? Plus, it's Arvic's first time in HongKong too. So I'm extra excited for him too. Let the countdown begin!I am sooooo excited already! :) My bday's coming up in more or less 2 weeks also. Yey! Turning 25 and excited about it! :D Planning to spend the weekend before my actual bday with the whole family somewhere. Let's see... :) ======= Yesterday, had a massage at TonTon's again. I loved it! Just what I needed. I love that place.. Not too crowded. And not too expensive too! :) ======= Work starts again tomorrow. Oh well.... positive side? At least I'll have enough moolah to enjoy HongKong. Thank you work! :P CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Boracay '09 : R & R

Long overdue Bora post. :P Before Summer actually ends.. I just felt that I should get my Bora series of posts over and done with.:) It was my second time in Boracay... and I can honestly say that this was the first time that I actually enjoyed the beach and the sand. :) My first trip there was last year and the itinerary for the whole stay was planned already, so it was mostly activities like ATV, island hopping, snorkeling. This year, it was mostly swimming and sitting around. Complete relaxation. :) The whole group stayed at SUR. A really neat resort located in Station 1. A white building, pretty and cozy huts, nice view and a really nice beach front... *Sigh*.. Take me back? I suddenly miss the sun, sand and free time. CARPE DIEM! I'm out.
