Mr. Kurosawa

Last Saturday after a very relaxing massage at The Spa Libis, we went over to Eastwood mall to have late dinner. We ended up choosing Jap food over Italian and Thai. We ended up having dinner at Mr. Kurosawa.

The place was pretty jam-packed and there were a number of people waiting to be seated when we got there. We were lucky to be seated right away because we only needed a table for two. But we ended up outside.. not bad as well because I noticed that the tables inside are arranged really close to each other. One thing I noticed though, was the ceiling fixtures. They really looked cool.

Off to the food, our orders:

Tuna Sashimi

I wasn't able to take note of the price. I was a bit disappointed with the serving size. I remember really raving about the sashimi size from another Japanese Resto, see here. In all fairness, it tasted fresh and clean.

West End Wagyu - P399

I liked the Wagyu balls, it was flavorful and a little bit spicy, the pasta I'm not a big fan of. Arvic did like it I think. :)

Japanese Fried Rice - P78 (per cup)

Lots of rekados.. confusing flavor. Good for the tastebuds I think, because they get confused. Haha!

Ika Fry - P178

This can be shared by 2-3 persons. I was surprised by the big serving. Crispy as well.

Final verdict: It's not one of the best Japanese restos I've been to. And a little bit pricey for their servings. I won't scratch it off yet because I have yet to try their Maki. I have a feeling it'll be similar to the other Jap restos this one is affiliated with (SumoSam, John & Yoko).

CARPE DIEM!
I'm out.

I agree with KG, the ambiance is remarkable. The establishment's name is so jap talaga, nothing you can deny. Haha.

i agree the prices on the menu are a bit steep. same with john and yoko and sumo sam which we have tried several times. (sarap din kasi, hehe)

i like their food but not the price and moreso the service. wait staff needs to practice smiling more often! pero sexy and outfits lalo na sa john and yoko!

you may want to try iwo jima next time you visit mr. kurosawa (if there will be a next visit from you) it's a pizza with mango and nice flavors into it. invite you to view my post about it. -->

Ba-Bye Ate

Today was quite a sad day for our family. For a very close-knit family, goodbyes are really extra difficult to say . Especially if the one leaving will be miles and seas away. My Ate (with her husband) left this morning for the US. They'll be starting their new life there. She already has work so I don't need to worry about that anyway, and I'm sure that she'll definitely do well. My parents were really sad... maybe it's the thought of being "away" from her. Tipong you have to hop on a plane pa just to be able to get to her. The whole family has US visa naman , we can go there anytime (as long as we have the money I guess :p) Yes, I cried a lot as well... and I guess it's because of all the bilins I got from her. The one that stuck the most " Ikaw na bahala dito ha.. Alagaan mo sila Mama and Papa. Si Ivan ha... Wag mo silang pabayaan. " My nephew on the other hand was a different story... he was eager to go home already when we got to NAIA.

Chuper Excited!

2 weeks to go.. then I'll be painting HongKong and Macau red with my Sanity Keepers... Any suggestions on where to go to? Beside from the usual night market, HK Disneyland and Ocean Park. Any cheap foodtrip areas? Plus, it's Arvic's first time in HongKong too. So I'm extra excited for him too. Let the countdown begin!I am sooooo excited already! :) My bday's coming up in more or less 2 weeks also. Yey! Turning 25 and excited about it! :D Planning to spend the weekend before my actual bday with the whole family somewhere. Let's see... :) ======= Yesterday, had a massage at TonTon's again. I loved it! Just what I needed. I love that place.. Not too crowded. And not too expensive too! :) ======= Work starts again tomorrow. Oh well.... positive side? At least I'll have enough moolah to enjoy HongKong. Thank you work! :P CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

What a Creepy Idea

While we were on our way to the Esplanade, we passed by one long hallway that had several 'artwork' on them. From afar we thought they were paintings, but as we went closer, we saw that they were actually pictures. I asked my friend Aimee if she had any idea who they were, then as we walked some more and saw more pictures, we then realized that they were pictures of.... People sentenced with 'Death by Lethal Injection' and their Last Meals.... =\ There was even one picture that says that the man refused his last meal and requested for a piece of paper and wrote "I want Justice" instead. How eerie is that?!.... I wonder why they had such an idea... I'm out.
