Mr. Kurosawa

Last Saturday after a very relaxing massage at The Spa Libis, we went over to Eastwood mall to have late dinner. We ended up choosing Jap food over Italian and Thai. We ended up having dinner at Mr. Kurosawa. The place was pretty jam-packed and there were a number of people waiting to be seated when we got there. We were lucky to be seated right away because we only needed a table for two. But we ended up outside.. not bad as well because I noticed that the tables inside are arranged really close to each other. One thing I noticed though, was the ceiling fixtures. They really looked cool. Off to the food, our orders: Tuna Sashimi I wasn't able to take note of the price. I was a bit disappointed with the serving size. I remember really raving about the sashimi size from another Japanese Resto, see here . In all fairness, it tasted fresh and clean. West End Wagyu - P399 I liked the Wagyu balls, it was flavorful and a little bit spicy, the pasta I'm not a big fan of. Arvic did lik...

We were at... MyThai

One fine weekend, we decided that we wanted to go to a non-crowded mall to have dinner and have coffee. The first thing that came to mind was either Podium or Shangrila Mall, but then we couldn't think of a specific restaurant to go to. So we decided to go to Eastwood City and agreed that we'll randomly select the restaurant once we get there. We ended up having dinner at.... Why this place? We already miss eating Thai Food because the only one we really go to for authentic and affordable Thai food is Soms and the place is still under renovation. MyThai was an obvious choice. Off to the food... We decided to order the same selection we usually order from Soms and got to compare the dishes. First stop was the Tom Yum soup. We were both allergic to shrimp and it's quite disappointing that MyThai doesn't offer the option of choosing chicken over shrimp (unlike Soms). We still wanted to taste their Tom Yum soup version so we still went ahead and ordered it. Good thing, I al...

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy

We were strolling along Eastwood Mall yesterday when we chanced upon a contest/exhibit held and sponsored by P.A.L.H.S. (Philippine Arowana and Luo Han Society). PALHS is a non-profit organization that's dedicated in informing people about the challenge and satisfaction of keeping and taking care of Arowana, Lou Han (also called FlowerHorn) and other freshwater and marine fishes. It was refreshing and fun to see all those colorful fishes. Indeed, the winners were winners for obvious reasons, their size, color and yes, even friendliness. There was this one fish that just kept on following people's fingers/hands.. Look! He even posed for the camera. How charming! Now, here's the rest of the pics. Enjoy! Fishface... CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Old Vine

It has been ages since I last visited Eastwood City. The recent makeup session we had gave me a chance to go there and boy was I surprised at how the place has changed. Too many buildings already... This isn't the way I remembered it to be. Anyway, because of that we got the chance to have lunch at Old Vine. I was told that the place was owned by Tessie Tomas. So maybe that explains why there's a salad named after her. I was also told that it has similar dishes as Duo. So I excitedly checked out their menu. I can say that we were happy with the soup, bread, and our main courses. Too bad I don't remember each dish name. (Kai, Eliza, Anne.. help?) I give two thumbs up to the The Garlic Steak and Filet Mignon Arvic and I ordered. Plus, I loved the ambiance! :) I will be back to try out the Pasta dishes. Plus, there's a lot more to try out and visit at Eastwood city and the new mall. :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.

Make-Up 101

A friend of mine (Hi Anne!) had an interesting idea to sign-up for some make-up 101 class one day. And a number of us immediately said yes! Personally, I really am not so into make-up and really fixing-up daily, too much effort! But then again, I think it's time to learn some make-up tricks. It'll come in handy soon maybe? Who knows... so off to Eastwood City we went. It turned out to be a really interesting and fun afternoon of girl bonding, color blending and laughs. :) Start-up Brushes Our "Tools" :) We were given a number of tips and demos. Anne was the first model because she arrived earliest. :) We were jotting down notes like we were in college class. We even had printed slides! Haha! :D Us in action.... Thank you Suzanne for being so patient with us. Plus, we all loved the Suesh brushes. :) Lessons learned: -Blend blend blend -Brush brush brush -Have fun fun fun. :) CARPE DIEM! I'm out.
